VICTORLABARTHE D'ARNOUX
Victor Labarthe d'Arnoux studied philosophy in Paris before training in scenography and costume at La Cambre (Brussels) and completing his master’s at ENSATT (Lyon). He has collaborated with leading names in international stage design — including Michel Levine, Katrin Lea Tag, and Antony McDonald — at major opera houses such as Zürich, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Berlin, Vienna, and Oslo. His own designs span set, costume, and lighting, with projects like Geschichte (set and costume, Graz Opera), Humanoid (set, Semperoper Dresden), and The Cunning Little Vixen (set and lighting, University of St Andrews). He is currently designing The Barber of Seville (set, Oldenburg Opera, 2025/2026).
Inspired by the sensory freedom of electronic music, he has also developed immersive video installations for festivals such as Milkshake (Amsterdam) and Waking Life (Portugal). Victor also works as a freelance art director for the VR company Three Space Lab, creating immersive VR environments and textures for architectural projects. Across all his projects, he brings a sensitive, versatile eye, blending ideas and techniques from different worlds. Passionate about exploring creativity across mediums and scales, Victor has expanded into luxury still life photography, collaborating with the Paris-based Figure agency. There, he has created cutting-edge visuals for magazines such as Numéro (Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam) and Schön!
